Background
Stories of basilisks were rampant throughout Medieval times where it was often described as a poisonous, serpent-like creature.
Wherever a basilisk went, death and sickness were sure to follow. Its toxic aura wilted everything it passed, and its stare was so captivating it could turn anything to stone.
A basilisk's odor was so pungent that simply smelling it was enough to cause severe illness or death.
