Pirate Ship Signet Ring
Crafted in our signature ring mold, this ring features a pirate ship with sails billowing in the wind. The sides of the ring are designed to mimic the planks used in shipbuilding centuries ago.
Background
For centuries, pirates have terrorized the seas, plundering ships and coastal towns in search of booty. Pirate ships have evolved over time, from early vessels such as the galleys used by the Barbary pirates to the sleek sloops favored by Caribbean buccaneers.
One of the most famous pirate ships was the Queen Anne's Revenge, which was captained by Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard. Outfitted with 40 cannons and a crew of 300 pirates, the Queen Anne's Revenge was a fearsome sight, and it proved to be more than a match for any warship sent against it.
In 1718, Blackbeard's ship ran aground off the coast of North Carolina, and today it is one of the most popular attractions at the state's Maritime Museum.
Pirates may no longer ply the seas, but their legend lives on in the tales of their exploits and in the history of their ships.
