Background

As an old man lay on his death bed, his thoughts started to fade - this was surely the end of his life. As the man died, he knew that he was going to hell. He had led a wicked life and now he would pay for his sins.

He expected to see dark flames and demons awaiting him, but instead, he saw a beautiful light. It was so bright that he had to shield his eyes. As he looked again, he saw that the light was coming from a door leading to heaven.

He was about to enter when a voice called out to him. "You cannot come here!" The man turned and saw a demon, its claws gripping his skull.

"This is your destiny," the demon said. "You will descend into darkness instead of ascending into light."

It was only a moment before he descended and saw the fires of damnation and the hordes of demons that awaited him. He could see devils laughing and jeering as they dragged him towards his doom.

There was nothing he could do but scream in terror as he was engulfed by flames.
